Coinbase has rolled out direct USDC-BRL trading and conversion for users in Brazil on its dedicated Brazilian platform. Users can now access real-time conversion tools, trade USDC against the Brazilian real, and in some cases earn an annual promotional yield of up to 7 % on their USDC holdings. USDC, issued by Circle, is pegged one-to-one to the US dollar and trades at approximately 5.08 to 5.10 BRL as of late July 2026. This integration eliminates the previous step requiring users to first purchase Bitcoin or Ethereum before swapping into USDC. Coinbase faces established competitors such as Binance and Mercado Bitcoin in Brazil, where the central bank’s Drex digital currency project could eventually compete with private stablecoins.
