XRP Ledger to Vote on Major Upgrade

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is expected to submit a set of long-awaited protocol amendments to validator voting in approximately two weeks. The proposed changes include support for batch transactions, confidential transfers, sponsored fees and reserves, permission delegation, dynamic Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs), and a bug fix. This upgrade also contains substantial performance optimizations that will make nodes more efficient and improve network reliability. Meanwhile, a governance debate has emerged regarding a potential further reduction of reserves, currently set at 1 XRP to activate an account, with validator Vet opposing such a reduction in the name of protecting network resources.
