US spot Bitcoin ETFs hold $16.33 billion in unrealized losses with an average cost basis estimated at $82,249, representing roughly 22% underwater. On August 14, major investment managers must disclose their Bitcoin ETF positions as of June 30 via SEC Form 13F filings, revealing whether institutional adoption built a durable holder base or attracted short-term momentum capital. Cumulative net inflows since ETF launch total $51.6 billion, but June saw $4.51 billion in net outflows before a partial July recovery of $438 million. Citigroup cut its 12-month Bitcoin price target from $112,000 to $82,000, nearly matching the estimated ETF breakeven level. BlackRock remains the market’s liquidity anchor with $47.7 billion in net assets for its IBIT ETF.
