US forces have redirected 55 commercial vessels and boarded two ships since resuming the naval blockade operations against Iran on July 14, 2026. More than 20 American warships, including the USS Ross, are deployed in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman to enforce the blockade. The Curaçao-flagged Belma, the Mozambique-flagged Lavine, and the Comoros-flagged Charminar were disabled or boarded for non-compliance with the embargo. The pace of operations has accelerated, rising from 12 redirected vessels on July 25 to 55 by August 9, indicating an expansion phase of the mission.
