UAE sovereign funds hold $764M in BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF, SEC filings reveal

Two Abu Dhabi investment vehicles, Mubadala Investment Company and Al Warda Investments (linked to the Abu Dhabi Investment Council), collectively hold approximately $764 million in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF as of March 31. Mubadala alone accounts for 14.7 million shares worth roughly $565.6 million, while Al Warda holds 8.2 million shares. The two funds have built their IBIT positions over five consecutive quarters, signaling sustained institutional conviction. The decline in dollar value from over $1 billion to $764 million reflects Bitcoin’s price movements rather than any reduction in share count.
