The delay is attributed to ethics provisions targeting officials’ financial interests in cryptocurrencies, which reportedly affect Trump’s dealings directly. Trump’s family crypto ventures reportedly generated approximately $1.4 billion in 2025. Market response suggests increased skepticism, with odds for the Clarity Act becoming law in 2026 falling to 33.5% from 40% a week ago.
