The 60% stocks, 40% bonds portfolio, often declared dead, is making a comeback for different reasons than when it was first developed. For about fifteen years, the equity portion of this portfolio essentially boiled down to owning the S&P 500 without trying to be smarter. The so-called golden ratio portfolio is regaining effectiveness, but with a few necessary adjustments. This configuration is becoming attractive again for investors in the face of the rise of artificial intelligence and mega-IPOs.
