Blockstream CEO Adam Back has sharply criticized supporters of BIP-110, a soft fork proposal aimed at eliminating Ordinals inscriptions on Bitcoin for one year, stating they do not understand how Bitcoin works. With three weeks remaining until the deadline at block 961,632, actual support for the project remains extremely weak, with only 0.86% participation from mining pools, when 55% would be required to lock in the fork. Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, has also come out against the initiative, arguing that transaction fees must be market-determined and that Bitcoin must remain economically neutral. Despite the intense debate, on-chain statistics show that miners and major capital holders have largely ignored the project, and Adam Back predicts that the forked branch will instantly die due to insufficient computational power.
