The 30-year Treasury yield is approaching 5.2%, a critical technical level. A sustained breakout above this threshold could open the path toward 6%. U.S. long-term interest rates have risen in recent weeks, but a much larger move may be ahead. Such an increase would exert additional pressure on rate-sensitive bond ETFs, particularly the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT) and the iShares TIPS Bond ETF (TIP).
