Tesla resolved its dispute with the IF Metall union on August 13 after 1,021 days of industrial action, ending Sweden’s longest modern strike. The company offered severance packages to the roughly 80 remaining union members at its Swedish service operations without signing a collective agreement. Tesla vehicle registrations in Sweden fell 67% in 2025 to 7,252 units from 21,894 in 2024. Tesla’s stock rose approximately 4% following the news of the strike’s resolution. The labor dispute had escalated into a national standoff with sympathy strikes from dockworkers, postal workers, and electricians refusing to work with Tesla.
