SpaceX stock rises above IPO price for first time in a month

Share

SpaceX shares have climbed back above their $135 IPO price for the first time since mid-July, rising approximately 23% over two days in early August. The stock had previously fallen more than 20% below its IPO price by late July, wiping out over $1 trillion in market value from its mid-June peak of $225.64. SpaceX went public on June 11, 2026 at $135 per share, raising approximately $75 billion and reaching a market capitalization of roughly $2.1 trillion. The rebound coincides with the lockup expiration around August 6, which made up to 911 million shares eligible for trading. Despite this recovery, the stock remains well below its $225.64 peak, leaving investors who bought during the first two weeks of trading with significant losses.
