SpaceX closed its $60 billion acquisition of Cursor, the AI coding assistant built by Anysphere, on August 14, 2026. The all-stock deal makes each of Cursor’s four co-founders – Michael Truell, Aman Sanger, Sualeh Asif, and Arvid Lunnemark – billionaires with an estimated net worth of approximately $2.7 billion each. The Cursor team is being folded into SpaceXAI, the division created in 2026 after SpaceX acquired xAI, and will be paired with SpaceX’s compute resources including the Colossus supercomputer to advance AI models such as Grok 4.6. The agreement, signed on June 16, 2026, was made possible by SpaceX’s blockbuster IPO that raised approximately $75 billion.
