This proposal would have allowed these companies to raise capital without complying with traditional securities offering rules. The cancellation was reportedly due to an unexpected scheduling issue, according to Reuters. The vote on the CLARITY Act, which has stalled in Congress, has also been postponed to next month, with its chances of adoption this year diminishing as US midterm elections approach.
