Scaramucci Says Clarity Act Is Major Improvement Over Crypto ‘Wild West’

American financier Anthony Scaramucci has renewed his support for the Clarity Act, stating that this imperfect text remains ten times better than the current crypto Wild West. The bill aims to establish clear rules for this nascent asset class in the United States, but its passage by the Senate is blocked by disagreements over ethics rules and investor protection. Negotiations between Republican senators and the White House have produced an amended draft prohibiting covered officials from issuing tokens or securing crypto-linked sponsorship deals while in office. However, Senate Majority Leader John Thune indicated that the legislation is unlikely to pass before the August recess. According to Polymarket bettors, the Clarity Act currently has only a 38% chance of being signed into law in 2026, compared to 78% in May.
