Regulators To Push Pro-Crypto Initiatives Following Clarity Act Delay

The Clarity Act, initially hoped to pass before Congress left for August recess, has been delayed with a vote now scheduled for September. In response, both the SEC and CFTC have announced plans to advance crypto regulation independently. The SEC is set to hold an open meeting Friday to create a tailored offering regime for crypto asset investment contracts, while CFTC Chairman Michael Selig stated he aims to finalize rules before the end of the current administration. This marks a dramatic shift from the aggressive stance under President Biden, when the SEC pursued crypto firms like Coinbase and Kraken. President Trump, who campaigned on making the United States the digital asset capital of the world, has overseen the dismissal of several high-profile lawsuits against crypto companies since taking office.
