Real Sociedad has canceled the transfer of Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd after medical tests revealed concerns about his fitness. The transfer was structured as a loan with a purchase option valued between €11-17 million, the loan itself costing an estimated €2-4 million. Aguerd underwent surgery for a pubalgia injury in March 2026 and has not played a competitive match since. Marseille, who signed him for approximately €23 million in September 2025, now find themselves with a player whose future at the club remains uncertain.
