Cole Villemain, the Pudgy Penguins co-founder who was voted out by token holders in January 2022, sold out a 44,444-piece NFT collection on Robinhood Chain in under an hour, generating approximately $1.28 million. The Spritehood collection offered mints at $17 or $117 for an upgraded version, and the sale completed in 53 minutes and 48 seconds according to onchain analysis. The smart contract remains unverified and the source code unpublished, leaving buyers without visibility into the distribution mechanics of their tokens. Critics have called the project a pure cashgrab, while the Pudgy Penguins community had previously removed Villemain over allegations of treasury mismanagement.
