OpenAI has acquired NextSlide, a startup that developed AI tools for converting notes and documents into presentation slides. The entire team, founded by Ahmed Beshry in mid-2025, has joined OpenAI to work on ChatGPT features. The deal was finalized in early 2026, with the public announcement appearing on LinkedIn and NextSlide’s website around August 7-8. Financial terms were not disclosed. Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s CEO of AGI deployment, is credited with facilitating the acquisition, as ChatGPT continues its evolution from a text-generation tool toward a comprehensive content creation platform.
