Nvidia has launched full production and shipments of its Vera Rubin platform, with NVL72 systems featuring 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs. The Rubin architecture delivers up to 10 times the throughput for agentic AI workloads per unit of energy consumed compared to the previous Blackwell generation, also reducing inference costs by a factor of 10. Bitcoin miners, already holding favorable long-term power contracts and built-out data center facilities, are rapidly repositioning as AI infrastructure providers hosting Nvidia GPUs. CoreWeave, Microsoft, Amazon and Oracle are among the first customers to receive these systems, with Supermicro beginning full Rubin-based solution deliveries in June 2026. This transition is creating a clear divergence between pure-play Bitcoin miners facing difficult post-halving economics and infrastructure-focused miners generating AI hosting revenue independent of Bitcoin’s price.
