Metaplanet, the world’s third-largest public Bitcoin holder, transferred 3,881 BTC, worth approximately $250 million, according to data from Arkham and Lookonchain. The company currently holds 43,000 BTC, acquired at an average price just above $96,000, for a total spend of over $4.1 billion. The significant correction of Bitcoin in recent months has pushed Metaplanet’s position well into the red, with a paper loss of $1.4 billion, representing a 34 percent decline. Its goal of reaching 100,000 BTC by the end of 2026 appears currently unreachable, given its current portfolio and a substantial reduction in purchase frequency.
