Meta tanks nearly 9%, Microsoft jumps 8% as the AI trade splits Big Tech

Microsoft shares jumped 8% in premarket trading Thursday after posting fourth-quarter fiscal revenue that beat analyst estimates and reporting 43% growth at its Azure cloud business. The company said it now has over 30 million paid subscribers for Microsoft 365 Copilot, its AI-powered work assistant. Meanwhile, Meta fell 8.5% after missing analyst revenue forecasts for the current quarter, with guidance of between $61 billion and $64 billion versus the $63.15 billion expected. The company’s free cash flow plunged 91% year-on-year to $784 million as massive AI investments weighed on profitability.
