Luke Dashjr Removed as Bitcoin BIP Editor Following (BIP)-110 Fork Failure

Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr, who supported the failed BIP-110 fork, has been removed from his position as an editor of Bitcoin Improvement Proposals. The decision, voted on by other Bitcoin developers, was posted on the BIP GitHub page. The motion accused Dashjr of exercising his editorial authority inconsistently, unfairly favoring the proposal he was involved in while contributing little to the day-to-day work of BIP Editors. The BIP-110 fork, aimed at reducing spam on the Bitcoin network, attracted only a fraction of mining power and the new chain stalled after just two blocks were mined. Dashjr announced he was taking a sabbatical as chairman and CTO of Ocean, the mining company that supported the fork.
