Charles Guillemet, CTO of Ledger, urges Bitcoin users not to hastily adopt multisig wallets in response to the recent Coldcard incident. According to him, making the setup more sophisticated can introduce additional risks, particularly by making wallet recovery more difficult. He instead recommends Bitcoin Miniscript, a solution that allows users to define sophisticated spending conditions such as inheritance rules or 2-of-3 authorization policies without complicating management. Guillemet notes that Ledger devices are, to his knowledge, the only ones currently supporting MuSig2. For most users, he considers a properly backed-up single-signature hardware wallet to remain the most practical choice.
