Vlad Tenev, CEO of Robinhood, had his X account hacked on Thursday to promote a fake memecoin called « Vladhood ». The scam generated between 1.2 and 1.3 million dollars in just a few hours, with attackers pocketing approximately 650 ETH via the Pons launchpad. Trading volume reached 22 million dollars with nearly 85,000 trades on the main Uniswap pool. This attack comes as Robinhood Chain, the layer 2 blockchain launched in early July, quickly attracted over 700 million dollars in assets. The hacking of Marine Le Pen’s X account earlier this week, promoting a fake $LEPEN token, illustrates the proliferation of such scams.
