Scottish left-back Josh Doig, currently under contract with Sassuolo in Serie A, is being targeted by several English Premier League clubs, notably Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest. Developed at Hibernian, he joined Hellas Verona in July 2022 for a fee exceeding £3 million before being transferred to Sassuolo in January 2024 for approximately €6 million plus add-ons. This 2025/26 season, Doig has featured in 14 Serie A matches with Sassuolo. Serie B club Venezia submitted a bid of approximately €4.5 million, an amount lower than what Sassuolo had invested just over a year earlier. Doig earned his first senior cap for Scotland in June 2025.
