Germany’s fund industry reached 5.2 trillion euros in assets under management as of mid-2026, crossing the 5 trillion euro threshold for the first time, according to the BVI. This represents an increase of 348 billion euros in just six months, or 7%. ETFs captured nearly 40 billion euros of the 74 billion euros in total net flows during the first half of the year, with equity ETFs accounting for 33.9 billion euros. Retail investors contributed approximately 80 billion euros in net flows, bringing retail fund assets to 2.049 trillion euros, a 51% increase over five years. Germany solidifies its position as Europe’s largest ETF market and the largest EU fund market overall.
