MoneyGram is launching MoneyGram Ramps on the Solana blockchain, enabling wallets, exchanges and applications to connect digital assets with physical cash. The service allows cash deposits in more than 25 countries and withdrawals across more than 170 countries and territories, with MoneyGram handling identity verification, compliance, settlement and fiat payouts. The first Solana wallet to integrate the service is Rift. This move is notable given MoneyGram’s blockchain history, as the company was once one of Ripple’s most prominent partners before ending their partnership in March 2021 and later joining Stellar’s stablecoin ecosystem.
