FedEx launched FedEx Life Sciences, a dedicated unit for pharmaceutical logistics that already generates $10 billion per year, representing more than 10% of the company’s annual revenue. The global healthcare logistics market represents an $80 billion opportunity with 7% compound annual growth, the fastest-growing segments being GLP-1 weight-loss drugs at roughly 20% and cell and gene therapies at about 25%. FedEx aims to reach $98 billion in revenue by 2029 by focusing on these high-margin B2B services, directly competing with UPS whose healthcare business generated $11.2 billion in revenue in 2025. The company is leveraging its real-time tracking technology, including FedEx Surround and SenseAware, along with its cold chain capabilities to attract pharmaceutical companies and reduce their logistics costs.
