European Blockchain Convention Returns to Barcelona for Europe’s First Post-MiCA Gathering

Eleven weeks after the European Union’s MiCA regulation took effect, the 12th edition of the European Blockchain Convention (EBC12) returns to Barcelona on September 16-17, 2026. The event brings together over 5,000 attendees from more than 90 countries, with major institutions like Deutsche Börse investing $200 million in Kraken and Santander’s Openbank expanding crypto trading in Germany and Spain. EBC12 expects 80 of Europe’s top 100 banks, up from 50 last year. Key topics include institutional capital allocation, real-world asset tokenisation, CASP licensing, stablecoin issuance, and the role of CBDCs in cross-border settlement. The conference features over 300 speakers from banking, asset management, and regulatory bodies.
