Cursor announced on August 13, 2026, the acquisition of the Firetiger team to enhance its artificial intelligence agents’ capabilities in code development. Firetiger, founded in 2024 by Rustam Lalkaka and Achille Roussel, had raised 7.6 million dollars in seed funding led by Sequoia Capital in February 2026. The company had developed production monitoring tools integrated with GitHub, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Slack, AWS, and GCP. The Firetiger product will be discontinued and existing customers have been notified of data deletion. Cursor’s goal is to merge the development loop and the production loop into a coherent system capable of autonomously writing, deploying, and fixing code.
