Bitcoin held steady around $64,300 despite a major exploit draining 594 BTC from approximately 500 older Coldcard Mk3 hardware wallets in under 30 minutes. The attack exploited a flaw in random number generation within firmware version 4.0.1, while newer Mk4, Q, and Mk5 devices and users with BIP 39 passphrases remained unaffected. The Kospi finished July with a sharp rebound led by Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Taiwan Semiconductor, while Ethereum traded around $1,900 and BNB stayed near $590. South Korean regulators continued discussing interim stablecoin regulations, highlighting a growing disconnect between traditional markets and digital assets as speculative capital flowed into low-float tokens and smaller-cap assets.
