Three DeFi protocols were hacked in a single day for a combined total of $35.55 million, all targeting cross-chain bridges. AFX suffered the biggest loss with $24.2 million in USDC stolen from its Arbitrum bridge, followed by VerusCoin with $7.5 million and BSquared Network with $3.9 million. This exploit wave comes as the hacker behind the Drift Protocol exploit, responsible for stealing $285 million earlier in 2024, has started moving the stolen funds again via Tornado Cash. After DeFi TVL recovered by $10 billion in July, these new hacks threaten to revive the FUD that crashed the market in Q1-Q2.
