Coinbase captured 10.3% of global crypto trading volumes in Q2 2026, a record for the platform, up from 9.1% in the previous quarter. This performance is mainly driven by the acquisition of Deribit and the launch of perpetual contracts in the United States, which allowed the platform to close its historical gap on derivatives. Coinbase also claims a dominant position in the stablecoin market, with over 70 billion dollars in USDC and over 90% of stablecoin volumes traded by on-chain autonomous agents flowing through Base, its layer-2 solution on Ethereum. Subscriptions and services generated 555 million dollars in the quarter, representing 48% of net revenue. Brian Armstrong is positioning Coinbase as a leading infrastructure provider for the future tokenized financial system, ahead of traditional giants completing their own transformation.
