Bitcoin Killed the BIP-110 Fork: Breakaway Coin by September 1?

BIP-110, a soft fork proposal to limit block sizes and exclude Ordinals inscriptions, failed after mining only two blocks. The project’s supporters, led by Luke Dashjr, are now considering a proof-of-work change by September 1 to create a separate cryptocurrency abandoning Bitcoin miners. The fork is frozen at block 961,633 while Bitcoin is over 240 blocks ahead with signaling at 0%. Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor called the outcome proof that the system works as designed. Internal conflicts are emerging around Dashjr and OCEAN pool, which admitted routing some hashrate to the minority chain without clear consent, with its reported hashrate collapsing by 96%.
