US spot Bitcoin ETF inflows accelerated over the past week, coinciding with the Coldcard wallet hack that drained over $116 million worth of Bitcoin from more than 5,200 wallet addresses. According to Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, major funds (IBIT, FBTC, BITB, ARKB) recorded daily inflows totaling approximately $620 million since the exploit. The link between these flows and the hack remains unconfirmed, with the analyst stating: «I’m not saying it’s connected, we just don’t know.» The incident has renewed debate over self-custody risks, with Binance co-founder CZ arguing that storing crypto on centralized exchanges may now be «statistically safer.»
