Bitcoin advocacy group to join US State Department’s ‘digital freedom’ program

The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI), a non-partisan research and advocacy organization created in 2021, is joining the US State Department’s digital freedom program. The institute has endorsed attempts to codify into law US President Donald Trump’s executive order to establish a strategic crypto reserve. As of July 2025, the US Congress had not yet passed legislation to follow the executive order signed in March 2025.
