Billionaire venture capitalist Tim Draper has predicted that Bitcoin could go « infinite » against the U.S. dollar, arguing that growing adoption of cryptocurrency payments would lead to a fundamental transformation of the financial system. Block began automatically enabling Bitcoin payments for eligible U.S. Square sellers in March, with a rollout expected to reach millions of merchants. The Draper Innovation Index shows that crypto-friendly U.S. states like Texas (4th rank) and Oklahoma (15th rank) are attracting more blockchain investment. Draper reiterated his forecast that Bitcoin could reach $250,000 within 18 months, though the cryptocurrency is currently trading under $64,000. His original 2014 prediction of $10,000 materialized in November 2017, but subsequent $250,000 targets have never been met despite repeated deadline extensions.
