Benfica has submitted an offer worth approximately €20 million (£17 million) to sign 24-year-old English centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton. The Portuguese club saw its initial bid rejected, but negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs. Southampton, who signed Harwood-Bellis from Manchester City in the summer of 2024 for £20 million, are looking to sell the player for closer to £25 million, a premium over their original purchase price. During the 2025-26 Championship season, the player made 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists.
