Bank of Russia Approves Bitcoin Trading For Retail Investors

Russia’s central bank has approved Bitcoin trading for retail investors on the country’s crypto exchanges. Cryptocurrency purchases are capped at 300,000 rubles, or approximately $3,632, per year for retail investors. President Putin signed a law this month to regulate digital currencies and digital rights. Using crypto to pay for goods remains prohibited in Russia, but an exception exists for international payments to bypass Western sanctions. Qualified investors can trade a wider range of digital assets with no amount limits.
