Derivatives exchange AFX Trade was exploited for approximately $24.15 million on July 22 after an attacker targeted a bridge operated by the protocol on Arbitrum. Security firm Blockaid detected the exploit at 21:30 UTC. The stolen funds were moved to Ethereum and swapped for 12,467 ETH at an average price of $1,937 per unit. According to DefiLlama, the AFX bridge contract on Arbitrum held about $24.2 million before the attack, meaning nearly all deposited funds were drained. Arbitrum’s native bridge was not affected by the exploit.
