Marc Andreessen, co-founder of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), says the cryptocurrency industry’s resilience under regulatory pressure has become its strongest argument with lawmakers. According to him, repeated attempts by the administration to destroy the sector, particularly through prosecution rather than regulation, have paradoxically proven its durability to skeptical Washington insiders. Andreessen is advocating for the Senate to pass the Clarity Act to establish a permanent regulatory framework similar to those governing stocks and bonds, citing the collapse of FTX as an example of what happens without domestic regulation. He also pushed back against the illicit finance narrative, stating that national security experts view blockchain as a beneficial tracing tool for investigations.
