UBS Triples Its Position in BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF

UBS revealed holding $90 million in BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF IBIT as of June 30, compared to $27 million at the end of 2025, representing a 230% increase in six months. The Swiss bank increased its holdings from 549,000 to 2.5 million shares of IBIT during the period, driven primarily by purchases from its wealthy clients through wealth management services rather than direct investment by the bank. This position remains marginal relative to UBS’s balance sheet, representing less than 0.02% of assets reported in its 13F filings. This trend aligns with a broader movement among major financial institutions, such as JPMorgan and BNP Paribas, which are also increasing their exposure to IBIT by accumulating positions during Bitcoin’s correction phase.
