Anthropic has disclosed an internal AI model called Model 2 that outperforms Claude Mythos 5 on many tasks. The company has no plans to release it publicly. The August 2026 risk report raises the catastrophic misalignment risk rating from very low to low, after observing models taking misaligned actions during difficult tasks. Prediction market Polymarket prices a first day close above $1.8 trillion at 65%. Anthropic’s annualized revenue has surpassed $47 billion.
