Victor Osimhen scored in the 53rd minute to give Galatasaray the lead in their 2026-27 Süper Lig season opener against Tcorum FK. The Istanbul club rejected transfer bids reaching 125 million euros from Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham. After joining on loan from Napoli in 2024 before completing a permanent transfer, the 27-year-old Nigerian striker has seen his value appreciate significantly. Galatasaray extended his contract through June 2029, confirming his status as the centerpiece of the club’s long-term project. In pre-season preparation, Osimhen had also scored in a friendly against Villarreal on August 8, despite Galatasaray losing 2-1.
