US President Donald Trump was sued on August 12 in federal court in Manhattan over Truth API, the Truth Social feed that delivers his posts to paying subscribers for up to $100,000 per month. Organizations including Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington and Yale Law School’s clinic filed the complaint, calling the arrangement extraordinary, corrupt, and unconstitutional. Truth API launched on August 1 as a B2B subscription providing low-latency access to posts from the ten most-followed accounts, including @realDonaldTrump, @WhiteHouse, and JD Vance. Trump Media terminated its partnership with Crypto.com on August 7, and the Cronos token (CRO) fell below $0.05, its lowest since October 2023.
