Upstage, a South Korean AI startup founded in 2020, launched Solar Pro 4, its latest reasoning model, scoring 42 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, a threefold improvement over the previous version which had a score of 14. The model achieves an Elo score of 1,277 on the GDPval-AA v2 benchmark, surpassing the average human baseline set at 1,000. The context window reaches approximately 524,000 tokens and the model includes a system allowing users to balance reasoning depth against speed of execution. A promotional discount of 90% is available until September 10, 2026, with pricing set at $0.30 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output tokens. Solar Pro 4 is accessible through Upstage’s API, OpenRouter, and Nous Research’s Hermes Agent platform.
