Polygon Labs has joined Phase 2 of the Bank of England’s Digital Pound Lab, alongside NOBO Finance Limited and Dun & Bradstreet. The consortium will test stablecoin settlement alongside a simulated central bank digital currency for cross-border trade finance targeting small and medium enterprises. Phase 2 runs approximately from November 2025 to July 2026 and involves a sandbox exercise with no real customers or funds. Polygon contributes its Open Money Stack for stablecoin settlement, embedded wallets, and smart contract deployment. The global trade finance gap for SMEs is estimated in the trillions of dollars.
