Alphabet unveiled its new Pixel 11 lineup, consisting of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, featuring its most agentic version of Gemini yet. Gemini Intelligence can connect information from messages, calendars, maps and other Google services to suggest or carry out actions such as checking availability, comparing travel options or initiating restaurant reservations. The launch comes weeks before Apple is expected to rebuild Siri around Google’s Gemini models, placing Google in the unusual position of competing directly with one of its biggest AI customers. According to Counterpoint Research, AI currently ranks sixth or seventh among reasons consumers upgrade smartphones, though this position is climbing in recent surveys. Rick Osterloh, Google’s devices chief, also highlighted a shortage of RAM and flash memory pushing hardware costs higher, forcing the industry to raise prices.
