Trump’s media and crypto firm just posted a $238 million quarterly loss—here’s where those losses came from

Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind Truth Social and prediction market platform Truth Predict, reported a quarterly loss of $238 million in Q2 2026. More than $190 million came from declines in the value of Bitcoin and other digital assets held by the company, rather than actual cryptocurrency sales, meaning these are unrealized losses that could reverse if the market recovers. By the end of June, the firm held approximately 9,477 Bitcoin valued at around $557 million and more than 756 million Cronos tokens worth $40 million. Bitcoin has fallen more than 46% over the past year to around $63,500, while Cronos has dropped 72%. Despite the losses, the company reported an 89% revenue increase to $1.7 million and holds more than $1.9 billion in liquid financial assets.
