eToro to Buy US Brokerage TradeZero for Up to $231M as Crypto Revenue Shrinks

Share

eToro agreed to buy TradeZero, a U.S.-focused online brokerage for active traders, for up to $231 million in cash plus up to 2.5 million newly issued Class A shares. TradeZero generated roughly $80 million in revenue over the twelve months ended June 30, with 81% gross margins in the second quarter. The acquisition comes as eToro’s crypto revenue dropped from $1.91 billion in the year-ago second quarter to $1.35 billion, with crypto trades falling 73% year-over-year in July. Meanwhile, stock, commodities and currency trading income rose to $141.6 million, and funded accounts grew 18% to 4.28 million. The deal, expected to close in the first half of 2027 pending customary regulatory approvals, is eToro’s third acquisition signed in 2026.
